Since early this year we have had the Outdoor Channel Outfitters scheduled to shoot at River of Life Farm this April. I basically kept telling myself...."yeah, the river will blow out the day before we are set to shoot." Well, I was close as a big rain came 2 nights before we were supposed to film. I had a guide trip the day before we were set to start shooting and fishing was CRAP and then I get back to the lodge to find out 3' of water is on it's way downstream----GREAT! Since the crew was set to film a turkey hunt and fishing we thought we would see how the river looked after a couple days of turkey hunting. I held out basically no hope of filming at all during the time the crew was here but got a call from the guys saying "Hey we like how the river looks and want to talk about filming." So I loaded up my stuff and headed to ROLF.
It turns out the river was clearing nicely and after a little bit of talking we decided to take a float the next day. The turkey hunting was completely uneventful as not turkey's were bagged but they did find som morels and did a cooking segment that night. We set up a little and tied a couple of flies, a mohair and a Rubber Legs for the camera that night as well. It was a little crazy getting used to the camera right IN YOUR FACE but I ended up with a really cool cameraman in the boat the next day and with him behind the lens it made getting used to the camera a ton easier and we were uber comfortable by the end of the day as we started doing fake commercials for Loomis and Clackacraft.
From here on out I really can't say too much since it hasn't aired yet but I can say that fishing was better than I ever expected it to be on a rough 1500 cfs on the North Fork of the White and yes, fish were caught....I even got to be chauffered over the falls in my own boat with a first-time rower at the oars!
Look for the show to air on the Outdoor Channel on Outdoor Channel Outfitters sometime this fall or winter...I'll keep you posted.

Brian, a buddy and i stayed at ROLF farm in Octorber of 2008. We loved the river as i used to float it. We did not catch any fish(because we did not use you as a guide) but had a ball. I saw the last half of your program on 8/14, it was great. Cant wait to see the whole thing again. If you get the times it will be aired, please let everyone know. Hope to see you in October of 2009. If we can make it you will be our guide this time for sure.
