Peak Tying Pro Team

One day I was working the Bass Pro Shops Spring Fishing Classic as a Pro for a couple of different companies (I don't want to name names because I have since left those companies in the dust but one of them rhymes with "Poomis") and I was in need of a new fly tying vise.  What is really cool about working those shows is that Bass Pro gives you an employee discount on anything in the store....time to buy a vise.  So while chatting with one of the employees in the Fly Shop at Bass Pro about vises he was a stong proponent of Renzetti.  So I sit down and tie a fly on a Renzetti (which I had done before) nothing special, kind of cool looking....lets try another vise.  So I walk over to the set of vises and I see this burly, brass, stainless steel, aircraft grade aluminum, BEEFY vise and say "I have to try that one."  Turns out it was a Peak.  Made in Loveland, Colorado these vises are absolutely bomb-proof, yet smooth as a babies butt.  Since then (over 5 years ago) whenever anyone sees me tying with my Peak they always ask about it and my #1 answer is "I feel like I can defend my family with this vise.....and then turn around and tie a #16 Parachute Adams with it."

Not long ago I get a call from Al Ritt of Peak.  They had seen some of the tying videos that I have been making and noticed that I tie on a Peak....one thing led to another and he asked if I would be interested in joining the Peak Pro Team.  What, am I going to say "No"?  So, here we are, directly below April Vokey herself on the Pro list.

Check out all Peak Vises and Accessories at Feather-Craft. And also, check out this GREAT commercial from FlyMax on the Peak Rotary Vise.

    'Directly below April Vokey...' hmmm....

  2. Brian Wise says:

There was absolutely no hidden meaning in that....... :-)

    April Vokey is hot.

  4. My current vise is a Renzetti traveler that I bought well over ten years ago at FC. I've been really wanting to try the Peak but the Renzetti refuses to break so I may just hold off another year or two and hand my Renzetti down to my son and get myself the Peak.

I have the same vise and LOVE it... I was going to get the traveler myself but after I used the Peak here in the shop I was sold!!!
