About halfway through the Galloup videos I knew the next step would be to jump straight to Mike Schmidt's absolutely awesome flies.  I had been tying the Double Deceiver for a couple of months and had a solid chance to fish it (and tweak it a little for the North Fork of the White River) and it is so much fun to watch in the water.  Ripping this thing away from the bank on the bow of a drift boat is haunting because, to be quite frank, you are just WAITING for a 70" brown to eat it--and then eat your boat.

Without further ado, the first fly in the Fly Fishing the Ozarks Mike Schmidt series of flies....the Double Deceiver.

We actually have our first celebrity sighting for the FFF.....in this weeks Fishadelic Foto Friday we have Conway Bowman with a HUGE Carp.

Bowman caught this carp at Beaver Island, MI.....where Indigo Guide Service is teaming up with Evan Muskopf of Feather-Craft (and Fly Fishing the Ozarks video) fame for a hosted trip and there are a few spots left.

The latest video is Galloup's Articulated Boogie Man.  In all honesty, out of all of his flies this one just has a mean look to it--like it would jump out of your Meatlocker and punch you in the face.  Kind of a cross between a Sex Dungeon, Zoo Cougar, and a Heifer Groomer this thing needs to be in every streamer freaks box, for sure.

Winter fishing this year was absolutely awesome.  We hit a point where 22" browns on streamers were "cookie cutters" do I need to say anything else?

Directly speaking, this fly is awesome.  It is fairly specialty as in you really have to fish it on a sink tip as it has NO weight--AND it is absolutely best fished from a boat, wading just doesn't do this fly justice.  What you first notice is that it is a lot like his famous "Zoo Cougar" only articulated, but then when you really look at it, the Heifer Groomer is a lot easier to tie than the Zoo Cougar, palmering marabou and stacking deer hair is basically all you have to do to tie this awesome articulated streamer.
