After receiving a few emails, all with something like "Where is the Fishadelic Foto..thing this week??" I realized I hadn't done it...my bad.

North Fork of the White Fall 2010 Re-Cap Video!

2010 has been the year for videos here at Fly Fishing the Ozarks. I started doing these re-cap videos this spring, and then kept it up for summer....then comes December and I actually got emails asking if I was going to do a Fall video. Answer? YEAH I'm doing a Fall video! Fishing the North Fork of the White this fall was pretty solid. This was however the first fall in a couple of years where we had "typical" fall water conditions. You see, we always look forward to fall fishing because of the browns moving and things cooling off and a TON less people on the river....but water levels on our river are determined by the past, if there has been rain in the near past we have good water--typically the summer doesn't bring 'that much' rain so that spills over into fall equaling low, clear water. Personally, I don't mind that low, clear water, it opens up aggressive wading and sight fishing and you really get to see the river and it's nooks and crannies. On top of that fall is just kind of pretty in the Ozarks (and most of the planet I guess) and you can't go wrong being on the river in mid-October.

So here is the Fall video shot on the North Fork of the White river with my buddies, clients, and yours truely. Also you'll see some great stuff from Dry Run Creek with my incredibly gifted fly-angling boys (seriously, wait until you see the cast and mend at 3:43)

Videos and choosing the music….

It all started with the 2008 Missouri Trout Odyssey, horrible video production from myself and Matt Tucker. Neither of us had ever really ran a video camera and neither of us had ever edited video footage....but we had a blast filming! After getting some of the video edited it hit me that I had NO IDEA what music I was going to set the video to so I talked to Tucker and he had 1000 ideas while I was totally stumped. Now it could have been that he wasn't completely brain fried from editing video for HOURS on end (for some reason he escaped that part of the "video production") or it could just be the fact that I can't pick music for videos...turns out it is the latter. And for someone who is a HUGE music fan that is a hard thing to admit.

Some people go to a psychic to see what they should do for certain situations, some people are trying the whole "yes man" way of thinking....I just go to the Tucker, mostly by chat to figure out what music I tend to use for videos.

Over the summer I have been shooting video here and there on guide trips and just general fishing outings (and making the Idylwilde Flies Promo Video another video in which I totally stole the music from Mr. Tucker) and up until today I had no idea what music I was going to use for the Summer 2010 Fly Fishing video besides a short thought of using the Baywatch theme. So here is an idea of how those chats go when I ask my own musical shaman what I should use for a video: (actual copy/paste from Google Chat)
